De splash teksten zijn de gele lijnen van tekst op het hoofdmenu. Ze worden willekeurig gekozen uit een lijst hieronder en zijn soms ook referenties naar cultuur (bv. websites, quotes en video-games). De splashes komen uit een tekstbestand in minecraft.jar (minecraft.jar/title/splashes.txt). Hij pulseerd op het hoofmenu op een frequentie van 2 Hz (120 BPM).

Splash teksten zijn niet vertaalt ongeacht de taal die gekozen is.

Splashes zijn in Minecraft al sins Indev, met soms nieuwe die erbij komen, meestal als een deel van grote releases. Voor Alpha 1.0.14 waren splashes opgeslagen in een array van strings in de broncode.
